The museum, owned by the Carivit Foundation, has been opened since June of 1996.
It is found on the ground floor of Palazzo Brugiotti, built in the secnd half of the XVI century, and occupies a surface of about 450 sq. meters holding expositions of over 200 ceramic pieces from Lazio that represent the medieval and renaissance age. Expos include; a collection from a drug store from the 15th century, handmade objects decorated in bas-relief and zaffer blue, examples of Castrenese ceramics from the 16th and 17th centuries painted in gouache, vases from chemist’s shops from the 17th century with the coat of arms of the municipal and hospital of Viterbo, etc…
Examples bearing witness to a long tradition in the ceramics sector that is presented in the territory and has been since the 17th century when it began to take preference over porcelain.
