Viterbo Airport
The airport was created in 1936 as the third military airport in Lazio, following Guidonia and Ciampino, chosen for its central geographic position and good meteorological conditions.
To reach the airport form Rome follow the Autostrada A1 in the direction of Firenze and take the ORTE exit. Follow in the direction of Viterbo and then Viterbo Nord. An alternative to this route is the state highway Cassia bis (exit n.5 G.R.A.)in the direction of Viterbo getting off at the Viterbo Nord or Viterbo Centro-Airport exit.
New Palace of Justice Viterbo
The recent construction of this building was completed in 2004 by a design done by architect Bakducci.
It was developed on four floors with a total area surface of 25,000 sq. meters and contains a tribune, offices of District attornies, Justice of the Peace, Superintendents of U.N.E.P. and the order of Advocates.
The building holds nine courtrooms ,a Court of Assizes, studies of Civil and Penal judges, two large civil halls for labour audiences and real estate auctions, ample clerk’s offices and three libraries.
The new Palace of Justice has been qualified for its advanced technology of security and for its modern information technology with a network connecting the entire judicial apparatus, including unattached sections.
Work on the new Palace started in 1982 but was interrupted just two years later up until 2001 when the old project was updated and work was begun again.
Benefits of the plan were the slimming of bureaucracies derived from the fact that numerous offices, once fragmented in four different places in Viterbo, were united under one roof. Costs for this avant-garde structure were approximately fifteen million euro.
